Locksmith Technician

Our team seeks a motivated, knowledgeable, and talented Locksmith Technician to provide the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of commercial doors, locking hardware, and electronic access equipment.  You will be an integral part of the team and will aid the company in achieving its mission of protecting the people, facilities, and assets of our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of commercial doors, and locking hardware.

  • Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of emergency exit systems and electronic access equipment and devices.

  • Create and maintain master key or lock systems.

  • Documents installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.

  • Assist technicians, installers, and other helpers on installation, service, and enterprise-wide access control systems, IP CCTV systems, wireless networks, and intrusion detection systems.

  • Learn how to install, maintain or repair enterprise-wide access control systems, IP CCTV systems, wireless networks, and intrusion detection systems.

  • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction

  • Assist post-sales engineering/project management as necessary with technical issues/redesigns

  • Complete internal projects as assigned

  • Assist operations team with field support

  • Maintain detailed and accurate notations of configuration management of client sites.

  • Cultivate client relationships into partnerships.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or GED required. Advanced Technical School Training in a related field preferred.

  • Valid and current Driver’s License and clean driving record

  • Locksmith: 3 years (Preferred) ALOA certification a plus

  • 3+ years of related experience

  • Strong mechanical skills

  • General construction skills for the installation of field devices.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics

  • Exceptional customer service skills

  • Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.

  • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.

  • Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside the organization.

  • A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.

  • Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Other duties as required or assigned by company management.

  • Increase job knowledge through continuing education and professional development opportunities, attend conferences, and read professional industry publications

 

Physical Demands & Working Conditions: 

  • Regular and Timely Attendance

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 4 hours) without a break

  • Position requires bending, twisting, stooping, and climbing

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally

  • Position requires pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds frequently and 40 pounds occasionally

  • May be exposed to temperature changes, heights, and small spaces including confined spaces

  • Ability to distinguish colors and use hands for repetitive fine manipulation frequently

  • Must pass initial and random substance abuse tests & background checks
